主題說明:
On February 24, Russia’s president Vladimir Putin started a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, shocking the whole world, and marking the biggest military invasion in Europe since World War Two (WWII), the bloody war has left millions of Ukrainians losing their home and displaced, thus numerous civilians and soldiers killed.
According to the United Nations, at least 12 million people have fled their homes since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, while seven million people are displaced inside the country.
When I first arrived in Ukraine a few days after the war broke out, not everyone believes the war will really happen, the general mood is desperate, falling Russian bombs and air sirens become a usual element of Ukrainians’ daily life, and everyone thinks Kyiv will fall anytime any minute.
Six months passed as I left Ukraine in nearly September, despite all the odds against the Ukrainians, they showed the whole world their willingness to protect their homeland, the resistance and resilience of Ukrainians’ and their tough spirit.
